Corporate tax returns (T2), accurate and on time
We prepare your T2 corporate return from clean books, claim the small-business deduction where it applies, and plan ahead so your tax bill is honest, never a shock.

What your corporate tax return includes
A corporate return is only as good as the books behind it. We reconcile first, then prepare a T2 that stands up to scrutiny, and we explain the drivers of your tax so you can make salary-vs-dividend and timing decisions with your eyes open.
Corporate tax work also includes watching the deadlines and decisions that affect next year, not just the T2 return in front of us. We flag shareholder loan issues, missing slips, GST/HST balances, payroll remittances and bookkeeping gaps early, then explain what should be fixed before filing so the return is accurate, supportable and easier to defend if CRA asks questions later.
This keeps corporate tax tied to the real operating file, not a disconnected year-end exercise.
Corporate Tax support also checks how the company is being used. Owner draws, shareholder loans, meals, vehicles, home-office costs, subcontractors, payroll, GST/HST balances and retained earnings all tell a story. We review that story before filing so the return reflects the business accurately and you understand which habits should change before the next year-end.
We also look for common year-end issues before the return is finalized: shareholder balances that need explanation, meals and vehicle costs that need support, payroll amounts that must agree to slips, GST/HST balances that should match returns, and expenses that belong in the right year. Those checks make the final filing stronger and make the next bookkeeping cycle cleaner.
This gives the owner a cleaner year-end file and a better starting point for the next filing season.

Corporate tax questions we hear a lot
When is my T2 due?
A T2 is generally due six months after your fiscal year-end, but any tax owing is usually due two or three months after year-end. We map your exact dates so nothing is late.
Corporate Tax deadlines are easy to misunderstand because the filing date and payment date are not always the same. We map the year-end, payment deadline, filing deadline and instalment expectations, then connect those dates to bookkeeping close dates. That gives you time to review the numbers before the CRA deadline arrives.
The deadline plan is shared in plain language so you know when books should close, when taxes may be payable and when the final return must be filed. If instalments are likely, we flag them early instead of waiting for CRA reminders.
Do I need financial statements too?
Yes, a T2 is built on financial statements. We prepare them as part of the engagement, so it’s one coordinated job, not two.
A Corporate Tax return needs dependable financial statements. We check the balance sheet, income statement, shareholder accounts, loans, sales tax, payroll and retained earnings before the T2 is prepared. If the books are not ready, we fix the accounting first so the tax return is built on numbers that can be explained.
Should I pay myself salary or dividends?
It depends on your income needs, RRSP room and CPP position. We model both and recommend a mix, it’s part of every corporate engagement.
The Corporate Tax salary-versus-dividend conversation is practical. We consider cash needs, CPP, RRSP room, instalments, payroll administration and how much profit should remain inside the corporation. The answer can change each year, so we document the reasoning instead of treating one method as automatically best.
Owner compensation also affects personal planning, so we connect the company result to your household cash needs where appropriate. That gives you a practical filing plan instead of a return prepared in isolation.
My corporation is behind on returns. Can you help?
Yes. We catch up multiple years, reconstruct the books where needed, and get you compliant with the CRA.
Late Corporate Tax filings are handled in order. We first rebuild or close the bookkeeping, then prepare each T2, then deal with balances, penalties, instalments or CRA requests. That sequence matters because filing a weak return quickly can create a longer cleanup later.
