Questions from your industry
Should I set up a PREC as a realtor?
If your commission income is strong, a Personal Real Estate Corporation can defer and reduce tax. We’ll confirm eligibility in your province and set it up correctly.
How is rental income taxed, and what can I deduct?
Rental income is taxable, but mortgage interest, property tax, repairs, insurance and often CCA are deductible. We optimise it while managing recapture risk.
Is my property flip a capital gain or business income?
It depends on intent and frequency, flips are often fully taxable business income, not a 50% capital gain. We assess and report it correctly to avoid CRA reassessment.
