Who these free resources are for
Most people land here with one of three problems: they are about to start a business and do not know what the Canada Revenue Agency will expect of them, they are already running one and have fallen behind, or they have arrived in Canada and are facing their first return. The resources below are grouped that way.
The guides walk through decisions such as whether to incorporate and how to pay yourself from a corporation. The calculators give quick estimates for sales tax and how much to set aside. The checklists tell you exactly which documents to gather before you file, including a full newcomer checklist covering your landing date and income earned before you arrived. The FAQ answers what clients ask us most.
Everything is free and there is no email wall. We keep them deliberately short and specific, because the usual problem is not a shortage of tax information online, it is that almost none of it tells you what to do in your particular situation.
A caveat worth stating plainly: these are general resources, not advice on your return. Thresholds, rates and benefit names change, and 2026 has already brought one rename that catches people out, with the GST/HST credit becoming the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. Where a number matters, we link the CRA page it comes from so you can check it yourself.
If you would rather not work it out yourself, that is what we are here for: compare our accounting services, find your industry, read the FAQ, or book a free call.
